The Oklahoma State Senate is considering permanently allowing agencies, boards, and commissions to meet virtually.
A change to the Open Meetings act allows for virtual meetings.
The change was made this year to follow health and safety guidelines during the pandemic.
The Senate President Pro Tempore, Greg Treat, said holding meetings virtually allowed the government to keep doing their jobs, while increasing transparency with more public access.
Treat said any change to the Open Meetings Act will be in an effort to increase transparency.
